the radio owners manual that came with it, a install harness with instructions 2 hours, twist connectors, and understanding.
stock wire harness speaker wires are always Gray, White< purple< green
well, you need to make sure that you purchased the right harness for your year and model, (i have a 2005 impala and just did this about 3 months ago). make sure that you splice the right wires for each speaker into the harness that you bought for you car (NOT the CD Player Harness), note that the speakers and all the wires you need to splice will be the same colors as the ones that you are splicing them into. then you will need to install a dash CD player instillation kit, or a deck. afterwards, your CD player should be running right.
Colours don't mean a thing on that year and model. All wires are numbered about 1 inch from the ends. This is what you need to check, not colours.
Go to wal mart or your local stereo shop and pick up a factory plug in harness for your car, unplug your factory radio and plug in the harness, then you just wire in the aftermarket radio to the open end of the harness.....no cutting wires so you can put the factory radio back in by just unplugging the new one and replacing it
Unless you want to pull door panels or know how to check speaker polarity, just buy the aftermarket wiring harness. It's about $15 and will save you time and possible complications from wiring something wrong.

On a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, the positive wire for the side marker lights is typically the brown wire. However, wire colors can sometimes vary, so it's advisable to verify with a multimeter or wiring diagram specific to your vehicle. Always ensure the vehicle is turned off and disconnected from the battery before working on electrical components.
