You can't stop crows.putting up lots of hawk decoys might work because crows hate hawks.check the laws in your area.if you are allowed to kill crows then get a powerful BB gun or a 22 rifle.

How do you rid the porch of swallows?

I started hanging CD's around my garden and put foil on the bottom of my tomato plants. The quick motion and reflection scares them away and they can't figure that out. So far I have not lost another tomato!Had this problemI tried putting things like statues/large figurines of owls and squirrels in the area they are nesting. It seemed to work for a couple of months. Use oilOnce swallows have nested in your eves, they will return every year with their young to nest again. They are attracted to the shelter of overhangs and especially love stucco/cement plaster walls where their mud sticks so well. Pressure washing the nests off will work, but you will have to stay on it 24x7 for a couple of weeks while the birds frantically try to rebuild what you keep washing down.A fake owl will work, for about 30 minutes until the birds figure out that it doesn't move. Owl boxes might in some places, but in our area, the swallows always return first. There is one thing swallows do know and respect. That is how well their mud sticks to the walls. They move on immediately if the mud does not stick to the walls. We had a terrible swallow problem in our stucco walled breezeway - the perfect condition for swallow nests. When we moved in, every spring would be a Hitchcock-ian nightmare of swarming birds and beating down swallow nests. One spring about seven years ago, I braved the breezeway in the midst of a hive-like swarm of dive bombing swallows, and sprayed canola oil on the walls right near the ceiling. All the birds were gone in less than 8 minutes. For the rest of the year. We had one come back the next year to try it again. One more zitst from the spray bottle of canola oil and we have been swallow free for eight years. These birds know when their mud don't stick and they leave to find a place that does.FYI - the canola oil evaporated in the summer heat in about two weeks without leaving a residue on the walls. BTW - I got the idea from someone in Pennsylvania who had put grease on the rafters to get rid of barn swallows.
