How do you retrain the tire pressure sensors on a 2005 jeep liberty?

WARNING: DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY CAN OCCUR IF MAGNETICALLY SENSITIVE DEVICES ARE EXPOSED TO THE RELEARN MAGNET. MAGNETS CAN AFFECT PACEMAKERS. CAUTION: Never attempt to train more than one vehicle at a time. System is capable of reading tire pressure sensor transmissions from other nearby vehicles while in train mode. Each time a wheel rotation or tire pressure sensor replacement occurs the tire pressure sensors must be retrained. This is necessary to inform the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) that a sensor change was made and the new locations of the sensors. Retraining is accomplished through the EVIC used in conjunction with a Re-learn Magnet, Special Tool 8821. NOTE: Use the following procedure to retrain all five (5) tire pressure sensors. No attempt should be made to retrain individual sensors. # Retrieve Re-learn Magnet, Special Tool 8821. # Press MENU Button on EVIC until "RETRAIN TIRE SENSORS - NO" is displayed. # Press STEP button to select "YES". There is a 60 second timer for training the first sensor and a 30 second timer between training the remaining sensors. If either of these timers expire, the EVIC will abort the training procedure. If at any time the EVIC display reads "TRAINING ABORTED", move the vehicle ahead at least one foot and repeat the entire retraining procedure. # Press MENU button to start retraining. Display will read "TRAIN LEFT FRONT TIRE" NOTE: The order for retraining all five sensors is: * Left Front * Right Front * Right Rear * Left Rear * Spare # Starting at left front tire, place Re-learn Magnet over valve stem. Within approximately 5 seconds, vehicle horn will chirp indicating training complete for that particular sensor. Remove the magnet. # Repeat step (6) on remaining sensors as indicated by EVIC until all five TPM sensors positions are trained. # Once EVIC displays "TRAINING COMPLETE", pressing either STEP, C/T, RESET or MENU button will exit training routine.

Most national tire outlets Discount Tire for one will take care of this service completely. Of course there are dollars involved.?

No - you can retrain them if you have lost the postitions. GM specifies a TPS training tool, that is simply a strong magnet. Buy a strong magnet from radio shack or harbor frieght etc. Get the tire-training up on the DIC (RTM) Hold the magnet next to one of the sensors and proceed with the instructions on the DIC - using the magent when instructed to train LF etc.

What is the correct air pressure for 19 inch tire?

There is no one pressure indicated on any 19 inch tire (tyre). Every tire manufacturer has different air pressure specifications individual to each tire.On every tire the Maximum load weight per tire and the maximum air pressure per tire is embossed in raised lettering on the sidewall of the tire itself. If you cannot locate it there, check the on manufacturers website for recommended air pressure, or check the inside door jamb of the vehicle the tires are mounted on for correct air pressure specifications.

How do i reprogram the wireless tire pressure gauges on a 2004 Jeep Liberty?

(http://www.wjjeeps.com/tpms.htm#TRAINING) 10. Training / Retraining the tire sensors: The sensor transmitters can easily be retrained by anyone and takes just a couple of minutes to complete. The special magnet tool used for retraining is included with those vehicles in which the factory has installed the TPMS option. The magnet can also be purchased for around $25, otherwise a pair of 6" or so speakers with good size magnets will do the trick. 1. On the overhead console, use the "Menu" button to advance to the "Retrain" option in the EVIC menu. 2. When "Yes" is selected, training will begin, starting with the left front tire. 3. Place the special magnet momentarily on each valve stem, one at a time, in clockwise order (LF, RF, RR, LR, Spare). You'll have 60 seconds to place the magnet on the first tire stem and 30 seconds for each of the other four, the spare being last. As each tire location is "learned", there is a confirming horn chirp. It may take 5-10 seconds for the confirming chirp once the magnet is placed on each stem. That's it, the correct tire pressure will now be displayed for the corresponding tires and the TPMS is fully functional. Note that for aftermarket steel wheels the training magnet cannot be used and that a 125kHz transponder is necessary to retrain the EVIC to the sensors. This process can be done by the dealer with a DRB-III tool. The ID's of each sensor must be written down and assigned a location (LF, RF, RR, LR, SP). They are then rewritten to tell the EVIC which position each sensor is in.=== === === === === === === ===
