ok your key on making these is the best hardware like one company to get hardware and strainer, pearl drum have an amazing parts their tension rods and lugs works amazingly togethere but you cna also find some more out there just have to find them with pearl lugs,if your finish will be dark or any nice color check out their pearl STL LUGS men they swivel and their beautiful again aditional price but you have to find the corresponding pearl lugs again this things will be easy to tune and whenever you rotate they just correspond nicely, and tension rods cost about $200 their hoops about 60 pair superhoops II and 100.00 on diecast hoops, their lugs hoops and tension rods just works smoothly, again there is more outthere that you can imagine,on those pearl parts you can build up to 7" depth and Keller shells on any kind of woods or acrylic, make sure the hoops hole if perfectly align to the lug hole they all have to be align perfectly,if you can check them 6 times or more are better this is the most crucial job of it before you drill, now after you perfectly drill them including the strainer butt plate holes.if you can configure perfectly the tension rods mm length again this is very crucial has to be perfectly nice and fit to the lug you have if you can search a model that has the same lugs and rods that's perfect, the reason for the hoops to be perfectly fitted small amount of tension rod length there goes your money you send.those are the very most crucial its a must to do these perfectly you will see what i mean after.this important also you know from the hoops hole going down very top of the lug it has to be maximum of 1 1/8" no more than that again you will know what i mean later on,just in case you installed long lugs diecast hoops will correct that nicely same brand,i like the 1 1/8" it will be precise tuning on that mode,or else the snare drum will be playing loosely bouncing down left and going up right or reverse ,that's very crucial also, now after that the finish its up to you that's not crucial it just depends on what your drum looks like wraps, lacquer ,oil, polymerized tung oil is nice again it deends whatever you want.make you sand the outside shells until fine you have to use the right round oval sander and just alittle pressure on the bearing edgesand the very top of the drum you can tell where you buy it to sand it for you so that it will be very even or buy you an oval sand paper on the lenght of your drum then on the perfect table lay sand papaer then rotate drum very slowly and evenly on both sideson the inside you can just sand it one line just to fine it or else the ply will be lessen.sand drill then the finish, then install,on 14" snare 10 lugs very important,it should fully engaged,OR BUY COMPANY DRUMS LIKE DW,GRETSCH,PEARL,TAMA,YAMAHA THEY HAVE A BETTER AND NICE SOUNDING SANARE OR DO THE PROJECTS,hope it help!
