How do you play eminor on a 5 string bass guitar because everywhere i look i can only find em chords for 6 string or 4 string an this is confusing me as i am new to playing please help thanks?

If you are tuned B - E - A - D - G thick to thin, then you need to hold the A and D strings down on the second fret. If you are tuned E - A - D - G - C thick to thin, then you need to hold down the A and D string on the second fret and hold down the thin string (C) on the fourth fret.

:addition:

I would also suggest doing these fingers an octave higher. So instead of holding down on the second fret, you would hold down on the 14th fret. However, you still play the E string just as it is. (dont bring that up an octave) By doing this, you still get that low bass note, yet the listener can still hear the higher chord tones. If you do it on the second fret, it may sound muddy. However, that may be the sound you want.

4 as in a bass right? with your fingers most people do , slap bass is another pick-less way .. or you can use a guitar pick.
