to play a xylophone you need to know your music, if youdon't you need to learn it.. then you will need a: xylophone, 2 mallets (you can also called them sticks) - mallets are a plastic stick with a ball on the end. the balls are usually rubber..... then what you do is hit the note with the mallet and let the stick bounce and vibrate and it should sound lovely !!!

a common mistake people make is they hold the stick up too high,, you should hold it about a fist length down ( hold onto the end of the stick then move your hand up to where your fist ended the first time ) also another mistake is you shouldn't have your thumb on top it should be wrapped around like your other fingers... try this.. if you have anymore questions ask me at ::: cassie_tm@hotmail.com i may not explain it well but that is sorta how its done......... :-)
