Usually with appalled sadness that a treasured song has been stripped of all meaning and is being used to sell crap. But then I quickly get over it. The original song is still there, pristine, on my record shelf. Nothing has changed, except that now many more people can claim they "love" that song, (but I was there many, many years before).

When asked by an interviewer about how he felt about the movies that really messed up his novels, author Stephen King just pointed to the books on his shelf and said that the novels weren't affected at all, they're still there, same as they ever were.

I guess that's how we should approach this.
