12 hole ocarina music is just the same as any other music. You read the dots, and play the notes. Of course you will need to know the proper finger positions for each note, and know the name of each note.
First things first, to hold your ocarina, have your left palm facing you, your four fingers on the holes on the top, and your left thumb over the hole on the left side on the bottom of the ocarina. Then, place your right hand over the other side, covering the top holes with your fingers, and your thumb covering the other bottom hole.
For the purpose of this answer, I will be referring to the fingers and holes
L1 L2 L3 L4
___________
,--- o o o o ---....
| ---.
|__ __o o o o___---`
\_/ R1 R2 R3 R4
T1 T2
o o
Now, I will list the primary note names as well as their finger positions:
B - All fingers down (including the tiny little holes above L3 and R3)
C - Everything but the tiny little holes
D - Everything but R4 and the tiny little holes
E - Everything but R3, R4, and the tiny little holes
F - Everything but R2, R3, R4, and the tiny little holes.
G - T1, T2, L1, L2, L3, L4
A - T1, T2, L1, L2, L4
B - T1, T2, L1, L4
C - T1, T2, L4
D - T2, L4
If you want any of the sharps and/or flats of these notes, just experiment.
You now know the main notes on an ocarina, and are completely free to practise to your heart's content.
If you check out the forums at theocarinanetwork.com they have some tabs. They could also point you in the right direction if they don't have what you want.
Yes, if you have an Alto C 12 hole Ocarina you can make a dove call, and an owl call. To make an owl call you just cover all of the holes on your Ocarina and mimic an owl's call. To make a dove sound you cover all the holes except the tiny hole on the right side (Sorry I don't know what it's called right now) and then right after you blow unplug the bottom left thumb hole. Hope that helps!

Yes, the Aztecs DID have music. Music was important because it was so closely linked to religion, as it played a big role in religious ceremonies. The most common instruments were rattles, whistles, trumpets, flutes, copper bells, and shells. Aztec children between the ages of 12 and 15 were taught to sing, dance, and play musical instruments.

You can find a nice selection of tabs here: http://ocarinatabs.wordpress.com/category/12-hole/ To create your own tabs based off sheet music, you can use the STL ocarina composer which lets you create your own tabs: http://stlocarina.com/fico.html

An Ocarina typically has between 4 to 12 holes. The Narnia Lullaby is played on a 6-hole Ocarina.
An ocarina store. I'm not joking. I have found one free place, but it's all fan made and most of it is for the 6 and 4 hole. But try songbird ocarinas under composer and then list ( I think ) you should find something there. Also, stl ocarinas has a ton of books, and so does the previous site I mentioned.
I don't know a stores name but you could always try a music shop. Also if where you live has Renaissance or medieval festival, go to it and search around there. Where I live there is always at least one person selling ocarinas.

as far as i know there is no store that sells ocarinas unless you live in saint Louis or California but online you can get one
Being limited edition, you won't find a cheap one. The cheapest I have seen was going for $150.
Songbird ocarinas has a nice 5-hole replica for $45 USD, and an amazing 12-hole replica with an actual band around the mouthpiece for $108 USD If you want the most accurate replica, a 7 hole (Very uncommon size) is on their site for $108 USD, and that's the best replica out there.
