To connect the wiring for the electric antenna on a '98 Mercury Mystique, first locate the antenna assembly in the rear quarter panel. Disconnect the old antenna if necessary, then connect the new antenna's power wire to the vehicle's power source, typically found in the radio harness. Ensure the ground wire is securely attached to a metal part of the vehicle's body for proper grounding. Finally, test the antenna by turning on the radio to verify it extends and retracts correctly.
Remove the 1993 Toyota decorative radio cover in. Remove the radio retaining screws. Pull the radio out. Remove the wiring harness.
Antenna connection if it has power but will not pick up a station. If no power, then it may have an in-line fuse that is blown. You going to have to remove the radio and look see. The radio may just be defective. My 95 Mystique starting acting funny. First the stereo would randomly turn on and off by itself. Then the transmission would shift gears suddenly. I did a little diagnostic work, and traced it to bare wires in the fuse box located to the right of the battery. There are a billion wires in there, and they are all bent at really sharp angles. The insulation broke off at the sharp bend on about a dozen of them. I'm currently working on repairing this - it is a serious pain. I hope that fixes my problem, and I hope it isn't yours. Good luck.

To remove the CD radio from a 2004 Mercury Monterey, first disconnect the vehicle's battery to prevent any electrical issues. Then, use a trim removal tool to carefully pry off the trim panel surrounding the radio. Once the panel is removed, unscrew the screws securing the radio in place, then gently pull the radio out of the dashboard. Finally, disconnect the wiring harness and antenna from the back of the radio to fully remove it.
You need a special tool. Take it to most businesses that installs radio,s and they should have the tool.
