∙ 12y agoYou would need to remove the brake caliper, brake caliper bracket and also the brake rotor.
The cotter pin and nut that holds the axle in place also needs to be removed, and then the axle needs to be tapped out of the hub with a socket.
Then you can get at the three bolts that hold the hub into place.

∙ 8y agoRemove the tire and wheel from your Mercury. Remove the axle end cap. Remove the wheel bearing nut. Remove the wheel bearing seal and the wheel bearing.

∙ 12y agothere are 3 13mm bolts behind rotor assem. remove brake cylinder rotor look for bolts in between upper lower ball joints near front axel
It is 175 ft lbs for the front wheel bearing of a grand cherokee

Assuming the pump is similar to my 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport, you first need to remove the the pulley with a special tool which you can borrow at an auto parts store. But before doing this, loosen and slide off the the belt off the pump. After removing pulley. remove bolts and pump should slide off. Did this to my jeep recently.
The thermostat on a 1996 Jeep Cherokee is under the housing where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine.

put it into park, i made the same mistake and couldn't get it out for ages!
It will bolt in, but the intake on the 1996 is different and the cylinder head on the 1996 does not have the temp sensor for the gauge in the same location.
How do you change a 1998 Jeep grand Cherokee rear wheel bearing you will have to remove housing in rear, break down axel, pull the side you are working on away from the wheel & replace bearing, it also requires a special tool to get into the housing case
