Take the knobs off and there are nuts underneath that need to come off then take the bolts off under the dash that are holding it in. There is a good site you may want to check: http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/Toyota/Camry.html

Remove the cigarette lighter. Then on the same panel where the cigarette lighter is located slowly pry the panel out. It is held in place by pins. Once that panel is removed you will see a few screws (three I believe) that need to be removed in order to get the radio out.

Use a wide blade screwdriver and gently insert it between the plastic ring (goes around radio and ac controls) and the vinyl on the dash. Then pry the ring loose. There is about six push in clips that hold it on. That is the worst of it. the rest should be obvious. Remove 4 bolts and the 2 wire harnesses from the back. I recomend buying an aftermarket wire kit that matched the new radio to the stock harnesses. makes life much easier. Walmart and parts houses carry them cheap.

it's really simple... just tried it myself tonight... disconnect the battery from the negative terminal... first you remove the knobs on the console around the radio... the adjuster knobs ya know... they just pull off, get a firm grip and pull... after that take a flathead screwdriver and pry at the top corners and bottom corners of the upper console... then remove the electrical connectors from the right hand side and back of the console face... there are 3 of them... after you remove the upper console face there are 4 screws holding the radio in place... Philips screwdriver will take care of them... after you get all 4 screws out, pull the radio as far out as possible and disconnect the antenna and the 2 connectors in the back of the radio... and just like that your stock radio is out... simply as i can put it.

It's very simple. First you need to remove thhe U-shaped plastic piece (with the 12volt cig-lighter). To do this, simply take a flat head screw driver to the lower right hand corner and pry it back. The plastic should pop off enough for you to release the other corners by hand. Second let the plastic dangle and locate the 8 screws (4 holding in the Upper Din radio and the 4 hoklding in the option CD player or dash-tray). Unplug the cables to the radio (2 blue and 1 black) these should correspond to the new stereo you are putting in. And to install the new radio just take the steps in reverse. Of course yours may be slightly different than mine but I will tell you how i took mine out. First off, I have a 1999 Toyota Avalon XLS with the 7 speaker setup (amplifier behind glove box). Remove the dash cover first. Around the edges of the cover are small narrow holes you can insert a screw driver or better yet a flat piece of plastic (to avoid scratches) and simply pry away from the center of the unit and it will come off in one piece. Once the cover is separated, you will also need to remove the plug going into the cover(between the top air vents) from the dash in order to completely remove it from the work area. This plug controls the headlights and dashlights as well as the emergancy lights so it will need to be reattached if you plan to go anywhere in the meantime. Once you can see the radio mounting harness, its fairly simple to see the screws you need to remove in order to remove the radio. Incidently, the radio and climate control are mounted in the same bracket, and you will need to remove the climate control (if present) and store it someplace safe for the time being. Once the mounting bracket is free, you can unplug the radio from the factory wiring harness but DO NOT cut the stock wiring harness. I did this and it was very stupid. There are ways to wire a new radio into the car without the old harness but they are far more work than needed especially since you can get an adapter harness for relatively cheap($20 or so) and wire in your new radio with considerably less effort and frustration. I am still looking for an old salvaged Avalon to cut wires from and fix mine. Just a word to the wise. Anyway your radio is out and you are free to put in a new one.

How do you remove the instrument cluster in a 1993 Toyota Camry?

It is not difficult. First you have to remove the 12vot cigarette lighter plastic and then remove the radio. 4 screws for the radio. Then you have to remove the panel that goes from the radio up to the instrument cluster. This panel has 4 screws. 2 of them are on top of the instrument cluster (visible) and the other two should be visible after removal of radio.
