good question. Its a unique scream which I've seen very few people do. The closest I've seen to Corey's scream is probably Shane told's from silverstein. it sounds a lot like yelling but is just a vocal technique. I believe it has to do with raising the vocal cord in something like a very high pitched fry albeit not exactly a fry scream. difficult technique to master nevertheless. He was taught/instructed by Melissa Cross. I find a lot of her teachings pointless, I just go for it and get the right sound with no pain. Do what suits you best but diaphragm breathing is absolutely needed. Oliver Sykes from bring me the horizon uses this techique - just not as well and in my opinion it doesnt sound as good. The point is that it can retain some form of pitch yet still have a guttural growly noise to it, corey taylor comletely mastered this. No matter how hard you try to sound exactly like corey taylor you probably wont succeed, and even if you did it would sound unoriginal. So basically, learn the same technique as corey, but dont try to be corey, try to develop your own style or sound.
