Rock 'n Roll music reached its height in the 1970s. The '70s fashion and hair was a hold over from the Hippie generation. So males' hair was longer, definitely over the ears, and from a few inches longer than the collar to many inches longer than the collar. Females' hair was typically long-- shoulder length or longer, parted in the middle and often with a portion of each side swept back and held with a clip or barrette. Some girls attached to the swept back portion, on one side, a feather on a leather strip. Jeans were bell-bottoms; girls wore midriff shirts or halter tops. Knee high boots were still in fashion, or platform shoes. Some wore flat sandals or flip flops. Colors could be plain (like blue jeans and solid colored shirt)... to bright and bold colors with large prints. Tie-dye shirts were more common in the early 70s versus the late 70s.
