Slipknot is not a satanic band. This is a stereotype most likely brought about by their masks and some of the album artwork and symbology, as well as the ever present labelling of heavy metal being satanic.
An example of the above was when someone tried to claim that the 9 pointed star on their albums and discs was satanic, despite the fact that it simply represents "the nine", the nine members. Stars in general, pentagrams especially are drastically misunderstood as being satanic even though they appear in many world religions including Christianity.

I am not sure about the athiest or the satanist, but there was a christian catholic but he left due to his religeous believes. But I certainly dont think that there is a satanist in the band.
