To cut a long story short yes, you can audition to play Alex Rider. But the final audition was in 1999/2000 and it went to Alex Pettyfer. the audition was in Edinbourough. But in 2016 i think they will do another audition for skeleton key/ eagle strike/ scorpia.
It will go a bit low pitched then high pitched as he is talking. It can be a bit annoying or embarrassing but it doesn't last for too long. At the end of it he will have a lower toned voice.
