How long is a 1997 Jeep Cherokee supposed to run for we are looking at 1000 in repairs and wonder if it's worth it the car has 130000 miles on it?

My 1993 Cherokee w/ a 6 cyl. has a documented 466,000+ Miles. aside from general maintance, I've only replaced about 600.00 dollars of parts in the last 8 years. don't give up to soon!
