Bass percussion is most commonly the bass drum, allthough there are many many percussion instruments, some of which are bass, I won't go into them.
I have seen a bass drum mounted on a base. The word "bass" actually comes from "bas" a Middle English term influenced by the Italian (the origin of many music terms) "basso" both terms mean "low (pitch)".
It is a large bass drum used in many Brazillian music
Five really, for the basic kit. Bass, snare, hi-hat (orig. called the Charleston Pedal, apparently), ride cymbal, tom-tom. That 5 will cover a lot of arrangements especially if you are inventive and proficient with the snare-drum and cymbal; but you can add extra tom-toms, cymbals of various sizes, a second bass-drum, wood-blocks, cow-bells and so on. You can also use different "sticks" - the basic sticks with wood or plastic tips, brushes (used a lot in jazz and dance-band styles), and for special effects tympani beaters and slap-sticks.
None. A clef sign has nothing to do with beats. It designates either treble, alto, tenor or bass, depending on what octaves are to be used and who would be singing or what instrument would be playing accordingly.

It is usually the Biggest drum in a drum kit and is usually played on the drums, on a marching band and sometimes in an Orchestra. They can also be played in a lot of ways and can range from small sizes to big ones.
Many who are into drum and bass music purchase quality audio to listen to it through. There are local sound systems shops which can help someone pick out the right system for their vehicle.
