Well first Hurt is not a song (by) Johnny Cash he covered the song which was originally done by the band Nine Inch Nails. As far as which is the better song its all opinions but if you look at covers of these songs (which have both been covered a lot) Hurt has been covered by way more artists then redemption song. In rolling stones top 500 songs of all time Redemption song came in at 66 while Hurt failed to make the list. Hope this helps... P.S Fun fact Johnny Cash also covered Redemption Song....

Johnny Cash said that him and Gordan Lightfoot were Cousins. They also look and sound similar seeing them sing together. My great grandmothers maiden name was Lightfoot and when she married changed it to Lightfoot-Modeset. So that would make me and my family distant cousins. My great grandmother also used to live in Arkansas where Jonny Cash was born. This connection would make sense since talent and passions are inherited, and my family and I are definitely artistic and have a deep passion for music.
No thank you. Country songs are too depressing. They are mostly sad songs that make a person feel bad.
What that doesn't make sense? Yes he wrote and sang that song!
Elvis presly, jerry lee Lewis, johnny cash and carl perkins
