Scorpions are ovoviviparous animals. Scorpion embryos develop inside eggs that are retained within the mother's body until they are ready to hatch. When the baby scorpions emerge from their mother, it appears they have arrived through live birth, like a mammal.

A scorpion actually doesn't lay eggs, but it may have as few as 2 scorplings to as many as 100 or more.
