sixteenth note = 1/4
This means that 4 16th notes = 1 beat, 2 8th notes = 1 beat...
If you think this is confusing, in England they have different names for note lengths like:
Hemidemisemiquaver...which I believe means 16th note...

∙ 14y agoA whole note has four beats. An eighth note has one half of a beat. If they are combined, you have four and a half beats. Those are only two notes.

So 4 divided by 1/2 a beat would be 8
