Harvey Haddix pitched a total of 12 perfect innings in his 1959 game against the Milwaukee Braves, throwing 136 pitches during that time. Unfortunately, he lost the game in the 13th inning when he allowed a hit, ending what would have been a perfect game. Haddix's performance remains one of the most remarkable near-misses in Baseball history.

When you play a high D on my alto sax why is it super high pitched?

If you're referring to the high D that you play with the palm key then that's just how the note sounds. The high D in my opinion is a very annoying note. You generally won't play it. I don't think I've ever had to play a high D in any of my songs. If you think it sounds wrong then you may check your fingerings or have another alto play it with you and see if the pitches are generally together. It won't be perfect because it is so high that it's almost impossible to get in tune.

How do you fix a crack in the bathtub?

Or call a Reglazer. Look under bathroom remodeling in the yellow pages. Should be around a hundred bucks, and it'll look almost perfect. There are repair kits available at do-it-yourselfs store. I would check them out.

Why are fourth and fifth chords perfect?

A fourth and fifth interval, or as you called it, chord, is perfect is because it doesn't sound right in both a major or minor scale. Now, I know that isn't my most specific answer, but basically, one of the more plain major of minor chords, is a third. Let's say, if it was a C major third, it would have C and E, which would have to be major, due to the fact that there isn't a E in C minor, but instead, E flat. Yet, if it were to be a fifth interval chord, it would have to be perfect, because the G (fifth interval), appears in both C major and C minor. So...yeah...

What is the first note in Strauss' Also sprach Zarathustra?

The opening note of RichardStrauss' symphonic tone poem "Also Sprach Zarathustra", written in 1896, is played by a pipe organ. The very low C natural is produced by a reed vibrating an air column within a 32 foot length of pipe producing a pitch of 32 cycles per seconds, just into the realm of human pitch differentiation of low sound frequencies. The progression of tones following the opening C natural (all of the following pitches are natural unless otherwise specified) follow the ascending natural harmonic series of C to C (perfect octave), C to G (perfect fifth), G to C (perfect fourth) and the inevitable major/minor dichotomy of western music the C to E natural (major third) and quickly from E natural to E flat (minor). Then the pattern is repeated until the reverse occurs from E flat (minor) to E natural (major). By the way, there is another almost forty minutes of music after the brief introduction made famous by the movie,2001, A Space Odyssey.
