Obviously that answer varies by country. In the UK, Jones hit No.1 on the singles charts with "It's Not Unusual" in 1965 and "Green, Green Grass Of Home" in 1967.

In the US, although he had several Top 10 and Top 20 hits, his highest charting single was 1971's "She's A Lady", which peacked at No. 2. In terms of total sales Jones easily topped the million mark with "She's A Lady" in the US as well as "without Love" (US#5, 1970), and "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" (US#6, 1969).

However, Jones did hit No. 1 on the Country charts in the US, in Feb 1977 with the title track of his 1976 album "Say You'll Stay Until Tomorrow", which also hit #15 on the regular US singles chart. Jones became the first act in the rock era to hit No.1 on the counry charts with their very first ever counry single (Bon Jovi recently matched that feat).

None of Jones albums hit No. 1 in the US, although nine different albums were certified Gold for a million plus sales. Among them were "Help Yourself", "Live In Las Vegas", and "This Is Tom Jones", each one peaking in the Top 5 of the US album charts but missing out on No. 1.
