Many people, including The Beatles themselves, consider Rubber Soul and Revolver to be the albums that enhanced their musical style. Their songs were changing around then, as is evident with Rubber Soul's 'Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)' which was the first of their songs to feature a sitar. The last track on Revolver, 'Tomorrow Never Knows', is their first experimental track. Also on Revolver, 'I'm Only Sleeping' was the first song ever to feature backwards guitar. Rubber Soul and Revolver were really the landmark albums that changed their style. George even said in the Anthology documentary that they are so similar that they could've been volume 1 and volume 2 of the same album. Their experimental methods and changed song writing was even more further expressed with their next album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - the album that Rolling Stone Magazine listed as the number 1 album of all time.
