There are only four: the violin, the viola, the bass, and the cello. The bass is also called double bass. The harp is not in the string section but it is in the orchestra. The violins are typically divided into two sections called 1st violins and 2nd violins and separate musical parts are written for each section.

If you mean types, a typical orchestra would have violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Many times a piano is scored in the piece and it would count as a string instrument also. Harp is a string instrument also but it is not always used. Sometimes guitar is used in certain pieces. As you can see, it really depends on what the composer writes in the score though.
