A kinnor had 10 strings, not more, not less. They were made of sheep's intestines. The Nevel, a similar instrument, had 12 strings-again, not more, not less. Some people say that the Kinnor had 7 strings, but that wasn't true, at least not by the time of the second temple. And anyone who thinks that the Nevel had 15 strings clearly can't read Hebrew.
