Club DJ's typically make between $200 - $600 for a 4 or 5 hour set. Working the club scene is not the greatest gig if your looking to make a lot of money. Part of the problem with the rate of pay is that there are a lot of DJ's going out there and doing it for free in the hopes of becoming famous. Other DJ's don't know what there worth and work for $200 or less a night to get their foot in the door with promises of higher pay from club owners who never keep their end of the bargain.Once a Club DJ has established himself and knows his worth, he can make between $400 to $600 per night, which is still not that great but because that is typically the highest club owners are willing to pay you can't squeeze anymore out of them.If you are a famous DJ or recording artist/producer DJ then you can make between $1000 to $10,000 for a 4 or 5 hour set. There are some celebrity DJ's that make over $20,000 in a nights work but it could take 20 to 30 years of dedication and talent to get to that point if you come across the right people! There are alot of club/bar owners that are happy to hire a DJ that has little or no experience for $60 plus a 40 dollar bar tab. And because there are guys out there that will spin for that price the industry will never progress to a higher pay scale!
