The reality of this questions is interesting and wide ranging to say the least. Let me try to explain. "Salaries", in the "session drummer" world varies greatly depending on which aspect of sessions you are specifically talking about. There is the "Hal Blaine" type player that constantly plays on five sessions a day for years and the money reflects that. Millions a year. There is the local session player. Programming and playing on local Ad's and commercials and giging with a full time lesson schedule, which is a common "everyday"man way to support yourself as a professional drummer and can be a great living and offers the ability to stay put and off the road and still pull in 50 to 100k a year. Then there are hundreds of thousands of "session drummers" who never make more than a few thousand dollars a year doing the odd session every few months. The Money really varies.
