the age of your great great grand parents
Willis & Co. was founded in Montreal in 1884. They made very good pianos at first, "cut corner" pianos near the end, and went out of business in 1978. I do know how you'd trace the serial number, but four digits implies an early one, if it's a serial number at all. It's likely that four digit number is not the serial number, but something else.
The serial number is actually 5478!

Without providing the actual serial number or even a description of the unit, it is nearly impossible to tell what year a Willis & Co was made - or any piano, for that matter. If this is a console piano, look on the back, on the outside of the soundboard, for a serial number. You may also find a sticker with model & serial inside the lid or case itself. On an grand piano, the serial would often be stamped on the plate or even under the strings on the soundboard inside the unit.
They are most likely a manufacturers mark or perhaps a product serial number or sorts.
The serial number on a Clough & Warren pump organ is typically located on the back or underside of the instrument. You may also find it on the inside of the cabinet or near the keyboard area. If it’s not immediately visible, check for a small metal plate or sticker that may contain the serial number.

The model lable is usually located on the inside wall, just above the burners, on the left. You would have to remove the panel that has louvers in it, to see it. If the entire cabinet were missing, you may never find out.
To determine the age of a hot tub, you can check the serial number or model number on the manufacturer's label. This information can usually be found on the inside of the hot tub cabinet or on the owner's manual. You can then contact the manufacturer or look up the serial number online to find out when the hot tub was made.
