Dusty Hill, the bassist of ZZ Top, contributed to the band's signature sound with his vocals on several songs. Notable tracks featuring his singing include "Tush," "La Grange," and "Cheap Sunglasses." While he primarily played bass, Hill's gritty voice added depth to many of the band's classic hits throughout their career. His contributions were integral to ZZ Top's blues-rock style.

ZZ Top was a band formed by Billy Gibbons in Houston, Texas in about 1970. It emerged from an earlier band called Moving Sidewalks. Not long afterwards, there was a line up change ending up with Billy Gibbons (vocals and guitar), Joe (Dusty) Hill (bass and vocals) and Frank Beard (drums). Their style is described as "Powerful southern hard-rocking boogie and blues" and they had a string of hits. Gibbons and Hill sported distinctive long "hill-billy" style beards. Their best known hits in my part of the world would be "La Grange" (1975) and "Legs" (1983 or 1985 depending on the version).
