∙ 14y agoThere is no magic formula for writing the perfect presentation. However, there are guidelines to help write good ones.
Firstly, 'good' can mean different things in different contexts. It depends on the type of presentation being made. A general format may help (and it may help in writing papers as well).
A 'good' presentation should include the following:
1. An introduction - State the problem or subject being discussed. Run through a general list of topics to be covered in the presentation to give the audience a quick overview so they know what to expect. This is also your chance to give your audience a 'WoW' factor, something that will draw their attention (maybe an interesting fact, or a bit of light humor).
2. The body: this may include at least 3 points. Be careful, as too many points presented in the body can overwhelm your audience and lose their attention. Organize your points in a logical order your audience can understand. Keep in mind that they may be new to the subject. It's a good idea to support your points with visuals such as tables, graphs, pictures, or even videos. Most people are visual learners. Too much text will turn off their receptivity to information.
3. A conclusion: Summarize your presentation. Recap what you talked about in your discussion. Depending on the subject, you can end with a conclusion or you may leave your audience with a rhetorical question to ponder for themselves. Don't forget to thank your audience for their attention.
