Yes he did , for the most part . His father left his mother and so he went to live with his grandmother and went to Fisk School for boys . Soon he went back to live with his mother and he dropped out , but then went to Colored Waifs home for general deliquency. He soon was realeased a year or two later .

he was born in a bad part of New Orleans and lived with his mom and sister. He did any job he could find to get coins for his family. When he was about 11 and a half he shot o pistol on new years eve and was sent to juvey.
