How was the band name acdc founded?

well supposivly they got it from a sowing machine. they saw acdc on the machine and thought tht it ment power and tht it would be perfect for there band. but later on when the band was in a taxi cab a man asked if they were all gay or bi because acdc apparently can mean half and half.

ACDC was formed by Angus Young and his older Malcolm Young in 1973 in Sydney. They got the name ACDC from the back of their sister Margeret's Sewing machine. It stands for: Alternating current/ Direct current.

AC/DC formed in 1973 , in Sydney, Australia, by brothers Malcolm & Angus young. The Young brothers began performing in bands when their family moved to Australia from Scotland in the late 1960,s . AC/DC underwent several personnel changes before finalizing the lineup that would eventually include Bon Scott, Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams, Malcolm Young , & Angus Young.
