This will be difficult if you are not a relative or parent. But if you are serious, this might help. I recently went to a Beltone center for an assessment of my hearing [I do not represent or work for Beltone.] The technician told me a story about a teenaged girl who came in for an assessment. She was getting bothered because she had to ask her friends to repeat things all the time-- she thought they were playing jokes on her. When she went in for the assessment, it was found that she had some permanent hearing loss. She explained that she often rides in her boyfriend's car, and he has a much-too-loud stereo system.
You don't realize at first that you are losing hearing, or you think that what you are experiencing is temporary.
You might be able to find a Beltone center or something like it near you, and you might be able to arrange for a presentation at your school (I'm presuming you are in school; pardon me if you are not.) This would be an incredibly good service that your school could provide, and your actions might help prevent serious hearing loss for many people. I'm sure the girl I mentioned above really wishes she had been more careful.
I shudder when I hear cars full of young people drive by, and the music from their car is unbearably loud in my car, or even in my apartment. If they don't smarten up, they will face years of life struggling to hear what's going on.
