But I know that black box is VERY compact, meaning it is very rigid and heavy relatively to its size. On the other hand SR-71, even if it is made of Titanium, could be easily destroyed if it had crashed to the ground. And the reason is because it is not so compact, it is not so rigid. It is an airplane and it should be light relatively to its size.
So the answer is, that material is not the ONLY reason why the black box is not damaged. It is the way that black box is constructed, compact and rigid. That makes it heavy relatively to its size. And that is why, this design can not be applied to the airplanes.
