Re: Frank Sinatra Frank Sinatra was born in 1915, in 1936 Fred Astaire sang it in the movie "Swing Time" so unless he did it when he was a 16 years old I don't think it was Frank Sinatra. However I am not sure if Fred Astaire was the original or not.
With the possible exception of Santa Claus himself, nobody in the recording industry merits the title ( Mr. Christmas) more than Bing Crosby. Crosby recorded and went big time with White Christmas and many other Christmas songs. he did one of the earlier versions of ( Do you hear what I hear? This song was also recorded by Robert Goulet, among others.
A Secular Xmas (Christmas) song, written by James Pierpont (1822-1893) which had the copyright title of "One Horse Open Sleigh" back in 1857. The song was originally written for Thanksgiving. It was not written for Christmas.
