If you want to become an anatomically correct (with lady bits ;) ) girl, you'll have to get a sex change operation. This means that your penis will be turned into a vagina and your testicles will be removed. You'll also have to take horomone pills to get the feminine look. You won't have a period and you won't be able to have children. It usually takes about a year for the whole trasformation. They also put in breast implants and reshape the vocal chords so the voice is higher. You also have to be 18 and it costs a lot of money. Not every guy who wants to be a girl or vice versa gets the operation. Many don't feel the need because they think that they don't need to be anatomically correct to be the gender that they want to be. Comedian Eddie Izzard and basket ball player Dennis Rodman are two examples of transgendered people who are anatomically men but dress in women's clothing. I'm not sure if they see themselves as women or not. FYI just so you know, you can be transgendered (obsessed with being in the opposite gender) without being homosexual (being attracted only to people of your own sex) and vice versa. Neither of the people I mentioned are homosexual but some transgerdered people are. Of course, if they see themselves as women, then in a way that makes them women and if they are dating a man then that could be seen as a straght relationship. It gets complicated trying to label things like that but labels detract from true understanding of anything anyway so why bother with them. Basically, if you want to be a girl so badly that you want the operation, get it earlier in life and try to associat with people who wouldn't mind if you got it or not (aka cool people), but if not then don't bother with it because it is irreversable and sometimes dangerous. Also, sometimes effeminate men think that they are transgendered because they are feminine, but there is a difference between acting and thinking like a girl and wanting to actually become a girl. In fact, some transgendered men are quite masculine. Eddie Izzard humorously described his transgenderism as "male lesbianism: guys who like running, jumping, tackling, climbing trees and putting on makup while they're up there" Take all of this into account before you makeany desicions on the operation because there is no going back! One last side note, there have been a lot of reports of straght people getting the operation and turning gay. This happens in a significant percentage of cases and scientists aren't really sure why. I myself am gay but not transgendered, although there was a time when I thought I might be because I thought that because I was gay i was also transgendered so I did a lot of research on the topic. Turns out I personally am fine with being a guy but anyone who says that there is anything wrong with changing your gender is uninformed and dumb. Really only you can decide what to do if you want to be a girl, but there are options out there. People are starting to become more accepting of people who don't conform to gender "rules" but really as long as you accep yourself, then no one else matters.
