If your 16 yr old had already gotten a speeding ticket then got another for doing 70 in 25 this time what will happen?

He/she will have their license suspended and probably have to attend traffic school. Get ready for some BIG BUCKS in regards to the fine and court costs. And be sure you are sitting down when you get that letter from your insurance company..YIKES!

The courts or motor vehicle dept will suspend the drivers license for probably 6 months to a year or possibly until they turn 18, your insurance will probably increase tenfold, if they don't attempt to drop you due to the child being on your policy (it sounds extreme, but they do it.) As for the child, I'd hope the parent would teach them a lesson, if they are driving 70 in a 25, especially already having been pulled over for speeding, they don't deserve to be driving.

Unhelpful opinion deleted. It depends upon the state laws and how aggressively the state enforces the laws pertaining to the offense(s) committed. In the state where I reside, the person would have their license revoked or suspended for a minimum of six months (more likely a year), be assessed a very hefty fine and be ordered to complete a lot of hours of community service. When I was young and stupid I did something very similar in Pennsylvania...I ran a red light and was doing 110mph in a 55 zone...my license was suspended for 10 days, and it cost me about $500 in fines. I also had to take a written driving test in order to have my license restored...I got a perfect score :) Wise up, don't do that crap anymore...I'm sure this was a wakeup call for you. But really, in the greater scheme of things you could have committed worse crimes...nobody got hurt...THIS TIME...a couple years before I had rolled my car doing 85mph...that seatbelt saved my life...ALWAYS WEAR IT...

Okay, your looking at 25 mph over, so that's going to be:

A. Speeding- For exceeding speed limit.

B. Reckless endangerment- For going above 20 mph above the speed limit.

So your going to have to go to Traffic Court, talk to the Judge, and pay some fines and court costs. If this is your first time, pretty much just a few points and a slap on the wrist.
