it is a concept that is only for really deep thinkers. if you do not have the attention span to contemplate really abstract thoughts, you will not understand it. in it's simplest design, the theory is that every thing is conected to everything else on the planet, if you change one thing (i.e. the killing of the butterfly) you set about a change that impacts everything else in the world In other words when the guy killed the butterfly it wasnt there to like do it's thing like produce or whatever and the generations of that simple butterfly disapiered so what ever animal was going to eat it could'nt and that caused something else to happen then something else so it changed time in a dramatic way!{for the simple people}lol

What is the sound of thunder at the end of the story?

At the end of the story the sound of thunder is the whole impact of the differences that have influenced the world and society because of the tragic mistake Eckles did, of killing the butterfly. So then Travis kills Eckles because of his big mistake, that seemed to be all his fault. The sound at the end comes from the shot.

What is one personification from a sound of thunder?

a guy pays money to go on a safari to the past. He gets to kill a t-rex, as soon as he see's it he wants out, he heads back to the time machine but paniks - stepping of the pre-arranged path (he shouldn't leave the path, he could kill an insect (the butterfly effect)) eventually the t-rex is killed by the safari guide and he makes his way back to the TM. The guide is mad at him, because he paniked - nearly killing everyone - and because he left the path. The guide says he will shoot him if things are different in the future. when they get back things are slightly different, the receptionist looks strange and spelling is different. The major difference being the results in a recent election. The man looks at the mud on his boots and see's a dead butterfly, the guide see's it too. They both realise what happened - The guide shoots him.

Who are the characters in Ray Bradbury's A Sound of Thunder?

The protagonist was Eckel

Examples of cause and effect in the story A Sound of Thunder?

Cause: When Eckels stepped off the path, he inadvertently stepped on and killed a butterfly. Effect: When Eckels and the others returned to the future, they found that people were "stupid" (examples: the spelling on the sign was incorrect; the people voted for the dictator rather than the "good guy" for President). Why: By killing the butterfly, Eckels made every descendant of that butterfly cease to exist. Animals that might have benefited from those butterflies, perhaps by eating them, or eating animals that ate butterflies, would not be able to do so. Some animals may have gone extinct altogether; some may have been undernourished or underdeveloped as a result. The "butterfly effect" eventually traveled up the food chain to human beings. Because the food chain was altered, human beings developed differently, seemingly less well than they had in the original time line, and because of those developmental differences, the humans in the future made some different choices than what they would have done had Eckels not stepped on the butterfly. Because of the time travel paradox, Eckels (or one of the others) could not go back in time to stop Eckels from stepping off the path, so he had to pay for the damage he had done, with his life.

What is the falling action in A Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury?

The falling action in A Sound of Thunder is hard to determine for sure. If the fight with the Dinosaur is the climax, then the falling action is probably when they get back to their own time and find out for sure that they've destroyed the future. However, in the whole timeline-centric story, the climax in one way is when they get back, smell the chemicals, and find out that the totally wrong person has been elected, so the only falling action left after that is Eckels asking if they can undo killing the butterfly, and his realizing that he is about to be shot... even though it will do no good in correcting the problem.
