If this is in reference to a piece of classical music composed by Antonio Vivaldi, then it is a catalog reference number prefaced by RV. The catalog, known as the Ryom-Verzeichnis, was created by Peter Ryom, a Danish musicologist (scholar in the study of music). An example of this can be illustrated with one of Vivaldi's more famously celebrated violin concertos, Spring (La primavera) which is referenced as 'Concerto no. 1 in E major, Op. 8 RV 269'. Ryom-Verzeichnisis is obviously named in the first part after it's creator while Verzeichnis is German for index or directory.
