Stringed instruments such as the violin, viola, cello and double bass ARE usually found in an orchestra.
However, stringed instruments such as the guitar are not very often found in an orchestra.
In this day and age, pretty well anything can and has been used with orchestra, but a couple instruments that are rarely included are Guitars and saxophones.
