The first way to answer that is whos playing it. Whos playing the horn is more important then the horn. For what its worth though the Giardinelli GTR 512 and 812 are both fairly good horns, great for the price. I would go with the 812 if you have the 400 more dollars to spend.

You know who ever asked this question its a very good question. I bought my trumpet brand new. I'd say all you have to do is go to a music store and ask them what brand it is. Look on your case (if you have one) it should say the brand name like bach, or Yamaha since they do that on their older instruments
