I don't think so. A guy named Andrew Strong recorded Mustang Sally in '91 on a soundtrack called "The Commitments" and he sounds a lot like Joe Cocker, but that's the closest I've heard.
Here are the lyrics to Cotton Eyed Joe by Rednex: If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe If It hadn't Been For Cotton Eyed Joe I'd Been Married a long Time Ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe He brought a disaster wherever he went The hearts of the girls were to hell, broken sent. They all ran away so nobody would know and left only men 'cause of Cotton-Eye Joe (Yee-Haw) If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go where did you come from Cotton-eye Joe If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe He brought disaster wherever he went The hearts of the girls were to hell, broken sent. They all ran away so nobody would know and left only men 'cause of Cotton-Eye Joe If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from where did you go Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe

William Everett "Billy" Preston and Bruce Fisher are officially credited with writing both the lyrics and music. However, Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys actually wrote it and gave it to Billy Preston as a birthday gift.
