Yes Linkin Park is a great band. It has a huge fan-base. It is also one of the most commercially successful bands. They make good songs. In the end, Numb, New Divide, What I've Done, Burn it Down are some of them.

Well, I like them. This may sound a little bit weird but I am more into the instrumental part of music. I pay very less attention to lyrics or the vocals. In my opinion, Linkin Park have done some excellent work with instruments. This, my friend is very challenging. I dont know how difficult it is to write lyrics and come up with a tune. But I do know it needs a lot of talent, work and intuition to compose instrumental music to go with it. I would say, Linkin Park have excelled in it.
