NO, but it forms the central idea in at least three Christmas carols. it is alluded to in Mary"s Boy Child, and is dominant in ( The First Noel) and ( We three Kings) as the guiding star of both the Shepherds and the Wise Men. Noel has the bad theological error of suggesting the first Christmas was a white one- ( on a cold winter"s night that was so deep) Suggests, but does not actually state, snow.

No, unfortunately.

I would rather sing this than carols, but alas it is not a carol.

It is a popular song which is now thought of as a carol.

Most carols are traditional and this isn't.

Even though this was not originally the case the meaning of the word carol now related to songs with a religious background relating to festivals such as Christmas and Easter. while music such as Rudolph the red nosed reindeer and I saw mummy kiss Santa last night are in the Christmas song bag.
