Definitely the Bach. I play trumpet and the Stradivarius is my favorite. What the real question is: what bore? I like the .38 because it has a more lively sound and is light and bouncy. If you are thinking of buying one, definitely look at both the King Flair and the Stradivarius.
You know who ever asked this question its a very good question. I bought my trumpet brand new. I'd say all you have to do is go to a music store and ask them what brand it is. Look on your case (if you have one) it should say the brand name like bach, or Yamaha since they do that on their older instruments
This trumpet was only from the 60's or 70's. It's a simple trumpet and they made many. If in good condition, maybe $100.
At $2000+ you would hope so. They are made in the accent factory in Germany so they are not cheap China clones. The style of the instrument is that of a Bach Strad copy. The price range puts them in the professional market, and a friend who plays one says they can't be beaten. But then every trumpet player says that about his favourite instrument.

One can purchase a Bach trumpet from websites such as 'Bach Brass', 'Amazon', 'Musicians Friend', 'Bach Strads', 'OzWinds', 'The Band Room', 'Kessler & Sons Music' and 'eBay'.
Quote: "The Bach Stradivarius 18037 Lacquer Professional Bb Trumpet is the preferred instrument of most professional players. The Bach Strad trumpet's standard weight body and bell, and standard construction #25 mouthpipe bring depth and color of sound, coupled with the even intonation and response to this instrument. The 18037 Strad Bb Trumpet is one of the most popular of all Bach trumpets for good all-around playing." from: http://www.bizrate.com/orchestral-instruments/bach-180-37-stradivarius-bb-trumpet--pid590421863/

Many students (myself included), will upgrade to a Bach Stradivarius. If you can find a reputable dealer, you can usually get a used one relatively cheap. For a new intermediate level trumpet, Bach's TR200 line is a good step up from a student horn. If you want some non-Bach choices, I've known people to be very happy with their Getzen and Yamaha trumpets.See the related links section below for some links to manufacturer pages.
One good way to improve your tone on the trumpet is to ensure that your embrasure is good.
Yes, it is a great trumpet I play one professionally.

Any Bach mouthpiece. I have been playing with them for years and they have never let me down. Trumpets do not have a built in mouthpiece because not all mouthpieces work as well as others for different people. There are many very good mouthpieces. The best mouthpiece is the one that fits your mouth the best. IE: If you have thin lips, a deep/wide mouthpiece probably won't work well for you. If you have thick lips, a shallow/thin mouthpiece probably won't work well for you. Bach, Schilke, Monette, and several other companies make very good mouthpieces.
