ACDC gained modest popularity in Australia since they formed in 1974. Their first single with Dave Evans, " Can I sit next to you Girl" was getting attention at the time. But really, it wasn't until they fired Dave Evans and acquired Bon Scott in 1975 when the band really took off. Bon Scott offered the perfect lyrics to go with the bands sound...they jelled and the rest became history.
