Frogg Dogg said he began rapping in 1982 and eventually got in to battle rapping. He claims to have been virtually unbeatable in battle raps and became popular among the Detroit hip hop scene. Frogg Dogg eventually heard a then unknown rapper named Eminem and encouraged DJ's to let Eminem rap over real hip hop beats rather than just rock 'n' roll tracks.
