It is definitely NOT hard to blow. Well... if you are a beginner it might be a little complicated at first, but if you have a good teacher a good reed, you'll do just fine. I'm in 6th grade, and I played since 5th grade and I'm very comfortable with it!

yes it is because i play 1 and if you practice you will make it perfect!

Yes, very easy. I have been playing for almost 2 years now. And i am 11, almost 12 lol :)

I agree that practice makes perfect. With practice anything is easy to do or play. I have been playing Clarinet for 5 years and every hour of practice i progress. Also, like many other classical instruments, you don't play for 10 or even 15 years and think you have mastered the clarinet. It takes a life's work of dedication and practice. I do not want to scare you. Clarinet is also a very fun instrument. It is most popular and it is used in most musical ensembles. It is a great skill to learn.

Clarinet is certainly easy to carry, compared to most other Musical Instruments, but it is difficult to say whether it is easy to play. For a beginner it is pretty easy to make a sound and to play a simple melody, but mastery takes a lot of work.

Most would agree that playing a clarinet is somewhat more difficult than Flute or Saxophone, because the different registers are not an octave apart. Clarinet is generally considered easier that oboe or bassoon, because sound production and intonation are harder on those double reed instruments.

On the other hand, clarinet is a great starting instrument because it's much easier for a clarinet player to switch to (or double on) flute or sax than for a flute or sax player to learn clarinet. Since advanced musicians are expected to play all three, it's best to start on clarinet. It's also a good starter for those who'd like to play oboe or bassoon.
