Don't know if it's legal, but it's definitely stupid, unless the dog is secured to the bed of the truck somehow. I don't care how well trained your pooch may be, etc., but what if it decides to go after another dog on the street, or you have to stop suddenly, or someone slams into the side of your truck? Over the side goes Fluffy. It's about as smart as people who drive with little Cuddles in their arms, instead of having two hands on the wheel, and Spot in the back seat, behind one of those metal grills. Distractions such as these, coupled with cell phones, are unnecessary, avoidable, and accident risks.

Riding in the back of a pickup truck in Arkansas?

It is not legal to ride in the back of a pickup truck in Arkansas and you can be fined for doing so. There are still some states where you can ride in the back of a truck but Arkansas isn't one of them.

Is it legal to ride in the back of a truck during a parade in GA?

First, it is NEVER a good idea to have a person ride in any vehicle without being restrained (wearing seat belts) It IS legal for a person to ride in the cargo area of a pick up truck IF they are sitting on the cargo bed, not the sides or wheel humps AND the cargo gate (tailgate) is closed AND: -The person is 18 years old or over -The person is any age but the truck cannot be on a major highway at speed. -The person is any age but the cargo area is covered by a fitted and secured truck cap. Basically some one under 18 cannot ride in the bed on the interstate or major highway unless the truck has a truck cap.

Can a person ride in the back of a pick up truck?

There is no Illinois Law at this time which specifically prohibits passengers from riding in the cargo bed of a pickup. However, the seat belt laws do restrict who can ride in the bed. The Child Passenger Safety act requires that children under the age of 16 be fastened in a seat belt or child safety seat, so no one under 16 can ride in the pickup bed. In addition, if the driver of the pickup is under 18, all passengers under age 19 must be in approved seat belts, so unless the truck has factory mounted seats in the bed, no persons under 19 can ride there.Read more: Can_you_ride_in_back_of_truck_in_Illinois

Why do women sit in the middle seat I ride between an old man and a little boy in a pickup truck each morning and it's a given that I ride there. Is it to keep me safe or because I'm in a skirtheels?

I'm a female, and I rarely sit in the middle seat. Maybe no one wants to ride in the middle seat and you're the only one who doesn't care where she sits?
