That is correct. Eric Clapton has said that when he is working he needs absolute peace and quiet. He does not like interruptions when he is composing. With three young daughters, it would be impossible for him to compose in peace, no offense against his children. Eric Clapton has also said that when he is in the creative spirit he may stay with a project for a number of days. It has always been his habit. Also, when he needs time alone and does not want to be disturbed, he will stay at his separate residence for a day or two. According to Eric Clapton, his wife, Melia McEnry, does not question his behavior and is "understanding" of the situation. Jack Nicholson had a similar arrangement with his former companion, Rebecca Broussard, the mother of two of his children, who are now grown.
